An 83-year-old grandfather who was killed when his golf cart was struck by a car at the Par 3 Golf Course in June died as a result of negligence, his widow said in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in circuit court.
Edward Streim, a Delray Beach resident, was thrown from the golf cart and suffered fatal injuries, while the other occupant was seriously injured.
“A terrible thing happened that an entire family will have to live with for the rest of their lives,” Robert Boyers, an attorney for Lynn Streim, said Wednesday. “This lawsuit was brought to ensure accountability for Ed’s horrible and needless death.”
